Do I need to know how to code?
Some coding in any C-family language, JS, Python or Java - even a few hundred lines - is enough. Pure beginners should take a free intro course first; we recommend Harvard CS50.
How do I get access?
Through the Pixel Academy subscription - one subscription unlocks every course on the platform.
How much time does it take?
At the suggested pace, 6-10 hours a week for 20 weeks - lectures plus the practice between them. Self-paced: go faster or slower.
What can I actually do when it's over?
Apply for a junior or mid-level Web3 role - or freelance - with three audited contracts on your GitHub. Architect from scratch with SOLID, deploy via Hardhat, write real test coverage, and read another engineer's contract well enough to explain why its financial logic is wrong.
What tools do I need to buy?
Almost nothing. A laptop (macOS, Linux, or Windows with WSL2); Node.js, VS Code, MetaMask, GitHub and Hardhat are all free. Most of the course runs on the free Sepolia testnet; a mainnet deployment costs $5-20 if you choose to make one.
What is the certificate worth?
An Arweave-issued certificate from an AmCham Georgia Patron Member. The real interview asset is the GitHub portfolio of three audited contracts you build along the way.
Why Hardhat and not Foundry, Truffle or Remix?
Hardhat is the production standard in 2026, with the deepest plugin ecosystem and the cleanest TypeScript integration.
Why learn this from a CFO?
